“Cassian is the one and only zulu-synth warrior, using records for defence and filters for offence. He prepares for war in the confines of his Sydney studio. His quest for dance floor domination has led him to battles all around Australia, and more recently, internationally, playing key dates throughout asia & europe (most notably Pete Tong’s Wonderland party at Eden, Ibiza). However it wasn’t always this way. His weapon of choice was originally a Fender battle-axe. You would often see him wielding a Strat or a Tele at band venues around Sydney. This somehow progressed onto the use of decks and a mixer, which in turn led to studio work which finally led him to his new weapon of choice, the synthesizer.

This explosive collaboration with new generation Bounce rapper Nicky Da B, protege of Big Freedia and Katey Red, reaches across the gap between the Hip Hop origins of Bounce and the club hits he’s consistently delivered in the past. Nicky Da B’s musically percussive style, featuring lyricism reminiscent of the Caribbean origins of New Orleans music, finesses the beat, creating maddening textures that bring Diplo’s production to a boil. Express Yourself takes club music back below the waist, where it works best, and brings a bit of the Dirty Dirty to the polished world of electronic dance music.

New York City’s Disco Fries collaborate with singer Niles Mason (fresh from his appearance on Louder Than Words with David Guetta and Afrojack) for their new single “Born To Fly”, a funky French-flavoured bassline number with stretched strings and filtered passes topped off by Mason’s soul-rock vocals. Alex Kenji tweaks the controls for the more clubby excursion while the Disco Fries own “Liftoff! Remix” gives it the electro-house treatment. The full release is due out Feb. 14, 2012 on Strictly Rhythm Records.
